Civil Litigation Paralegal (Workers' Compensation Experience Preferred)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our client's Downtown Raleigh team on a direct-hire basis. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong litigation experience, including exposure to workers' compensation matters, who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. The team is looking to move quickly with interviews and onboarding.

Compensation

  • Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire

Work Schedule

  • Hybrid model: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote
  • Flexible in-office scheduling (employee may choose preferred in-office days)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, including workers' compensation cases
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and routine correspondence
  • Analyze and summarize medical, financial, business, and case-related records
  • Manage and organize documents using litigation support software
  • Maintain and oversee electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare filings for local, state, and federal courts in accordance with applicable rules and procedures
  • Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation and strategy
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, court personnel, and other stakeholders
  • Anticipate attorney needs, proactively identify issues, and assist with problem-solving
  • Prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
  • Experience with or exposure to workers' compensation cases strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Proven ability to review, analyze, and summarize complex documents, including medical records
  • Proficiency with litigation support and document management systems
  • Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills
  • Ability to draft legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
  • Experience managing court filings and legal documentation systems
